Philosophy
Umber Architecture was founded in 2014 with the mission to provide custom innovative design.
Each project receives a customized approach depending on the client. A homeowner may want to go over every detail of a project, while a builder may need a simplified set of plans. Building Codes are fairly uniform, but each municipality will have their own criteria for design and information required on the plans. The final Design is documented and provided on a set of plans. A good set of design documents will be able to convey the intent of the project, provide the necessary information to complete the project.
The Process
We will start by discussing your project goals, expectations and schedule, and follow up on these requirements throughout the project.
Design
Design Criteria is established with a clear goal in mind, and we will work with you to achieve this goal. A project’s design could potentially have an impact on your life long after construction is complete. The design is incorporated into a set of documents.
Contracting
We will work with your builder or can help you find a builder. The builder should be familiar and experienced on the type of project they will be working on.
Build
During construction, we can help communicate with your builder and the municipality reviewing the plans and inspecting the work. This is the stage where the design becomes permanent, and the important decisions must be made quickly.
